Houndoom is the oldest (Generation II) canine Pokémon able to evolve using a stone (into Mega Houndoom). The second half of the riddle was just to avoid you thinking it could be Rockruff or Lycanroc.

Raikou briefly appears in EP180, Houndoom’s Special Delivery, for the first and only time in the main series, in a small cameo, behind the bushes.

For each riddle, the answer is the name of one Pokémon species, none of which is legendary nor mythical, except for riddle 12.

Ursaring is based on a bear, which is a member of the Caniformia suborder, and is named after the ring on its belly.

Entei is at the center of EP259, Entei at Your Own Risk, which begins with an angry wild Ursaring firing Hyper Beams.

All the Pokémon that are the answers to riddles 1 through 11, or the riddles themselves, have some kind of connection with the answers to riddle 12.

Magmar is the only Fire-type Pokémon that can spawn as wild in the Burned Tower, which was known as the Brass Tower before the great fire that caused its destruction.

Raikou and Entei are first encountered by the player in the basement of the Burned Tower in Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, from which they then flee.

The five first players to send the twelve correct answers will win an exclusive Pokémon.

Zoroark is known as the Illusion Fox Pokémon.

Raikou and Entei appear in M13, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, or, in Japanese, Supreme Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark.

Riddles 11 and 12 will be published simultaneously.

Typhlosion is known as the Volcano Pokémon. It is the biggest Pokémon known as such that is not a legendary Pokémon.

Entei is known as the Volcano Pokémon as well.

And I end up with a broken heart.

Piplup, or more specifically, Dawn’s Piplup begins EP603 dreaming about him protecting Dawn from a powerful Thunder attack. At the end of this episode, the Marill it had a crush on chooses it’s rival Elekid, breaking Piplup’s heart, as stated in the commentary attached to the riddle.

Raikou is the Pokémon which casts the Thunder attack at the beginning of this episode.

Finding the connection between the riddles or their answers might help you find more answers.

Blissey is known as the Happiness Pokémon.

Raikou and Entei directly follow Blissey in the Pokédex.

Reminder that you'll have to reply to each riddle with the name of one Pokémon species. Less than a week left!

Unown is the Pokémon used to spell the riddles, thanks to its forms resembling letters of the Latin alphabet.

Entei is the main character of M03, Spell of the Unown: Entei, of which Unown are the main antagonists.

Melancholy might be another path to this Pokémon.

Manectric is based on a raijū, thunder demon of Japanese lore. Mega Manectric is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 575. In Pokémon X, the Manectite is found on Route 16, also called Mélancolie Path.

Raikou is based on the tiger form of this demon, while Manectric is based on its wolf form.

Remember: only five winners! Keep your answers for yourself!

Heliolisk is an Electric/Normal Pokémon that can appear in the Rocky World of the Ultra Space Wilds, reached through green warp holes during an Ultra Warp Ride.

Raikou and Entei also appear in the Rocky World, though they are rarer, and Raikou only appears in Ultra Sun while Entei only appears in Ultra Moon.

Remember: the answer to each riddle is the name of one species of Pokémon.

Arcanine is known in the Pokédex as the Legendary Pokémon. It is before any legendary Pokémon in the Pokédex.

Raikou and Entei are referred to as the legendary beasts (or dogs, or cats, for some people).

Winners will be announced (and receive their prize) once five have been found, and the answers published and explained shortly thereafter.
